HP 8280 - Case Studies in Preservation Engineering

3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
Introduction to structural engineering, loads on structures, and structural elements in buildings. Examines behavior and deterioration of primary structural materials in historic structures. Students visit real-world examples of major engineering issues in existing structures to determine how conclusions are reached and how recommendations are made concerning structure. Preq: HP 8190  or HSPV 8190 ; and enrollment in MS in Historic Preservation program.
