BIOL 4030 - Introduction to Applied Genomics 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours) Emphasizes the practical application of bioinformatic/genomic skills to solve biological problems. The course includes an introduction to the Linux operating system, the bash command line environment, principles of next-generation sequencing, genome assembly, gene prediction, annotation, databases, gene/genome clustering, recombination detection, phylogenomics, transcriptomics, and metagenomics. Preq: BIOL 1030 or BIOL 1100 .
