SOC 4610 - Sociology of Sex and Gender 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours) Examination of theoretical and empirical approaches to the sociology of sex and gender, focusing primarily on contemporary American society. Focuses on how gender intersects with race, ethnicity, social class and sexuality, and how major institutions in society are sites for the maintenance and reproduction of gender roles, expectations and differentiation. Includes Honors sections. Preq: SOC 2010 or SOC 2020 and Junior standing.
