GEOL 3800 - Caribbean Field Studies

3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
This field-based course explores the geologic evolution of the Caribbean volcanic island arc system. Students visit the island of Dominica and observe firsthand a boiling lake, fumaroles, hot springs, geologic hazards, and deposits from numerous volcanic eruptions, and how humans have adapted to this volcanically active tropical paradise.
