MSE 3100 - Introduction to Metals and Ceramics 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours) This course covers the fundamentals of atomic structure, defect formation, microstructural development and subsequent impact on physical properties in metallic and ceramic materials. Mechanical, electrical, magnetic, thermal, and optical properties are explored and phase diagrams are used to interpret processing routes and utilization. Preq: MSE 2100 .
