CE 4040 - Masonry Structural Design 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours) Introduction to design of structural elements for masonry buildings, including lintels, walls, shear walls, columns, pilasters, and retaining walls. Reinforced and unreinforced elements of concrete or clay masonry are designed by allowable stress and strength design methods. Introduces construction techniques, materials, and terminology used in masonry. Preq: CE 3010 with a C or better.
