ELE 4090 - Entrepreneurial Commercialization of Innovation

3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
In this course, students develop competencies in evaluating the commercialization potential of new technologies from the perspective of an entrepreneur and in creating a plan for their introduction to the market. By the end of the course, students are also able to make specific and justifiable action recommendations about ways to (1) deploy a specific technology with recognized potential in multiple settings; and (2) apply this general process toward other technologies in their own disciplines. To do so, the course places heavy emphasis on case studies, external readings, and a semester-long project focused on a promising but not-yet-commercialized Clemson technology. Preq: Junior standing.

This 4000-level course has a 6000-level counterpart. Students should refer to the Graduate Catalog for the 6000-level description and requirements.
