MSE 8100 - Fundamentals of Materials Science

Covers the fundamentals of structure that underpin materials science, including the structure of noncrystalline, crystalline, and liquid-crystalline states; the thermodynamic laws governing equilibrium properties that relate macroscopic behavior; materials phenomena, such as heat capacities, phase transformations, glass transformations, and rubber-viscous liquid transitions; and the mechanical properties of crystalline and noncrystalline materials.
