ENGL 4830 - African American Literature from 1920 to the Present

Critical examination of the development of the African American literary tradition from the Harlem Renaissance to the present. Considers historical and cultural contexts of a variety of texts, themes, theories and literary movements. Preq: ENGL 2020  or ENGL 2120  or ENGL 2130  or ENGL 2140  or ENGL 2150  or ENGL 2160 .
