STS 1020 - Science and Technology in Society: The Ethics of Progress

Critical examination of our complex relationship with science and technology, including the role of culture, perceptions of progress, and associated ethical dilemmas. Contemporary global issues are covered such as the rise of artificial intelligence and genetic engineering. Students read and discuss relevant articles, justify claims through class writings, and use reflection to propose solutions.
