ECE 4340 - Optoelectronics and Photonics 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
An introduction to the fundamentals of optoelectronics and photonics. Topics include electromagnetic fields and waves, guided waves in dielectric waveguides, LEDs, laser oscillation and examples of laser systems, and detection of optical radiation. Preq: ECE 3810 with a C or higher.
This 4000-level course has a 6000-level counterpart. Students should refer to the Graduate Catalog for the 6000-level description and requirements.
