SOC 4840 - Child Abuse and Treatment 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours) Comprehensive examination of child abuse, neglect, and exploitation as major social problems; causes, effects, and prevalence of physical, sexual, and emotional maltreatment; definitional controversies; social policy and legal considerations; therapeutic approaches for children and their caretakers; child maltreatment and the judicial system. Preq: Junior standing.
