EDLT 4610 - Reading Methods in Grades 2-6 3 Credits (2 Contact Hours) Provides preservice teachers with an understanding of teaching reading methods in grades 2-6. Students learn theoretical and practical aspects of literacy instruction, methods, materials, and assessments for teaching elementary children. Comprehension, the role of children’s literature with an emphasis on nonfiction, and vocabulary learning in elementary grade levels are presented. Designed to meet Read to Succeed state requirements. Preq: EDLT 4600 and admission to the professional level. Coreq: EDLT 4611 .
