GBS 4300 - Hip-Hop and African American Contemporary Culture

3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
Examines the history and legacy of Hip-Hop culture, and explores how the artistic expression of the urban black underclass has evolved into worldwide cultural phenomenon. Combines scholarship and theory with considerable audio and video exposure to various Hip-Hop songs and artists. Preq: Sophomore standing.
