3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
This course explores in detail the causes and consequences of the catastrophic fourteenth-century plague that killed around 50% of the Western population, as well as other crises involving climate change, famine, and warfare during the long fourteenth century. As devastating as these life-altering trials were, medieval survivors showed remarkable resilience in rebuilding their societies after climactic, medical, and military calamities.
