ARCH 4870 - Community 1:1 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
Through a diverse and in-depth reading list, coupled with sustainable project-based initiatives, this course engages students in critical and creative thinking, as well as full-scale design projects that are community-based. Opportunities are offered in field research, studio design problems/documentation, and design+build potential. Students collaborate on projects that have a strong focus on public space, exploring how design and planning can improve the interface between the built environment, natural environment, and the human experience. May be repeated for a maximum of nine credits. Preq: Sophomore standing.
