Dance Minor

Minor Description

(16 credits minimum)

A minor in Dance requires DANC 3100 , DANC 3110 , DANC 3120 , DANC 3130 , DANC 3140 ; three additional credits selected from MUSC 2100 , MUSC 3080 , MUSC 3090 , THEA 3080 , THEA 3090 , THEA 4670 , and THEA 4870 ; and at least six credits¹ selected from DANC 2300 , DANC 2400 , DANC 2500 , DANC 2600 , and DANC 3300 .

¹DANC 3300 is an auditioned performance ensemble for advanced dance students, in which a variety of dance styles are studied and performed. If a student is not enrolled in DANC 3300, these six credits must be fulfilled by enrollment in courses focusing on at least three different dance styles. All 2000-level DANC classes are repeatable. Students should consult with the departmental coordinator to plan course selections.

NOTES:

• Students must be enrolled in at least one 2000-level DANC class or DANC 3300 prior to declaring a minor in Dance.
• Nine credits at the 3000 or 4000 level are not required for a minor in Dance, as approved by the University Undergraduate Curriculum Committee 2021.
