Online Teaching Certificate

Program Description

The Certificate in Online Teaching is a 12-credit, fully asynchronous online graduate certificate. Online education, as a learning environment, requires faculty to be educated in the design, implementation and evaluation processes of courses that are taught digitally. The certificate meets the South Carolina Department of Education’s criteria for an endorsement in Online Teaching for K-12 educators within the state who wish to pursue this professional endorsement. Further, this certificate provides professional development opportunities for faculty and graduate students who currently teach or plan to teach at the university level.

Summary of Certificate Requirements

The Online Teaching Certificate requires the completion of the four courses (12 credit hours) listed below with at least a minimum grade of C.
