Global Black Studies Minor

Minor Description

(18 credits minimum)

A minor in Global Black Studies requires 18 credits as follows:

• GBS 1000  
• HIST 3110  or HIST 3120  
• Three credits in the social sciences selected from AL 3340 , COMM 3240 , GBS 4550 , GEOG 3030 , GEOG 3400 , GLCH 3510 , JUST 4130 , POSC 3810 , POSC 4660 , RS 3010 , SOC 3010 , SOC 3310 , SOC 4440 , SOC 4550 , SOC 4600 , and YDP 3250 .
• Nine credits in the humanities selected from ENGL 3330 , ENGL 3530 , ENGL 3540 , ENGL 4190 , ENGL 4820 , ENGL 4830 , FR 3270 , GBS 1010 , GBS 4300 , GBS 4980 , HIST 3370 , HIST 3380 , HIST 3390 , HIST 3520 , HIST 3930 , HIST 3950 , HIST 4370 , HIST 4380 , LANG 4200 , THEA 3170 , and THEA 3180 .

Courses should be scheduled in consultation with the appropriate advisors. Students may submit a course substitution request to petition for relevant courses not listed above to count toward the minor requirements.

NOTE: This minor is not open to Global Black Studies majors.
