Program Description
The Bachelor of Science in Data Science is a degree at the intersection of mathematics foundations, statistical analysis, and computer programming. In addition to core skills, students learn management skills, ethical practices, and how to tell a story with data. In consultation with their advisor, students select an application area that consists of four courses selected from the same field (i.e., four BIOL courses or four ECON courses) and complete a capstone project in data science within the application area. Graduates with this degree are prepared for jobs such as junior data analyst, junior data engineer, applications architect, risk management analyst, and market research analyst in almost any discipline.
