CRP 8060 - Urban and Regional Economics for Planners

3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
Considers topics such as how economic and political forces shape urban land use, housing markets, and housing affordability; the economics of urban transportation; agglomeration benefits and costs and how these influence urban economic development; cities and economic specialization; urban labor markets; cities and well being; the economics of urban governance and local government finance; investments in urban infrastructure and development; sprawl and gentrification; homelessness; and the future of cities in the information era. Applies all of these topics to the practice of city planning. Preq: Consent of instructor.
