MATH 8730 - Mathematical Foundations of Machine Learning I3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
Machine learning studies statistical models and associated algorithms used to perform tasks automatically with limited human instructions. This course is the first of a two-semester sequence on the mathematical theory associated with various machine learning algorithms. The goal is to provide a foundational understanding of machine learning by introducing key theoretical concepts and algorithms under the Probably Approximately Correct (PAC) learning model.
