PRTM 8330 - Adaptive Sports Program and Event Planning

3 Credits (3 Contact Hours)
This course delves into the intricacies of designing, managing, and evaluating recurring adaptive sports programs and large-scale events. Building on foundational knowledge, students explore strategies for program and event planning, organizational challenges, stakeholder engagement, and program sustainability in the adaptive sports domain. Emphasis is placed on creating inclusive and accessible programs and events that cater to the needs of individuals with disabilities and developing effective marketing and outreach campaigns. The course culminates in a project where students apply their skills to conceptualize a large-scale adaptive sports event or recurring program. Preq: Graduate standing in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management or consent of instructor.
