Biomedical Data Science and Informatics, MS

Program Description

The MS in Biomedical Data Science and Informatics prepares students to participate in research programs in academia, as well as in the healthcare and public health industries. Students enrolled in this unique interdisciplinary program will benefit from Clemson’s strengths in computing, engineering, and public health and the expertise in biomedical sciences offered by faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina. Our goal is to produce the next generation of data scientists, prepared to manage and analyze big data sources and apply their knowledge in clinical, government and industry settings. Well qualified students will have an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, math, engineering or biomedical sciences.

The MS in BDSI offers combined BS/MS plans with BS Bioengineering, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science programs. These plans allow Clemson undergraduates to apply up to twelve hours of graduate coursework towards both their BS and MS degrees. For questions about the BS-MS course plans, please contact the School of Computing’s Graduate Student Coordinator.

The MS in BDSI is a non-thesis, coursework-only degree.
