Program Description


The PhD program in Food, Nutrition, and Packaging Sciences is administered by the Food, Nutrition and Packaging Sciences Department. The degree offers three concentrations: (1) Food Science and Technology; (2) Nutrition; and (3) Packaging Science. However, as an umbrella program, faculty and students from several allied departments within the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences participate in this program, including Animal and Veterinary Sciences. It is expected that each PhD graduate will have a comprehensive understanding of the principles defined in their selected concentration. The PhD candidate’s advisory committee will have final approval on all coursework.
