Program Description

The Bachelor of Science degree program in Marketing prepares students for successful careers in the field of Marketing, defined by the American Marketing Association as the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. Through a relevant and engaging curriculum, students also learn to be self-directed leaders and team members, as well as good global and societal citizens prepared to leave a positive lasting impact on the world.

The marketing department does this through its core marketing curriculum which builds foundational knowledge of marketing, consumers, metrics, selling, research, and strategy. Emphasis areas allow for the beginning of a specialization within the areas of research and insights, advertising and media, sales, experiential marketing, and general marketing. Marketing students also pursue a minor or cluster courses in closely related subjects to further establish their unique positioning within marketing.

Students wishing to change majors into the Marketing program must have a Clemson cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and have completed the Pre-Business program. Bridge students wishing to move into the Marketing program must complete all pre-business requirements, successfully meet the requirements to cross the bridge to Clemson, and have a 3.0 Tri-County Technical College cumulative GPA.The Marketing Bachelors of Science degree is accredited by AACSB International.
