Examination of Charles Darwin’s The Origin of Species and its cultural impact from his time to ours. Topics include the contemporaneous reception of Darwin’s work, the Scopes Monkey Trial, and more recent controversies over Creationism and Intelligent Design. Includes Honors sections.
