MICR 4020 - Environmental Microbiology 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours) Discussion of microorganisms in air, terrestrial, and aquatic environments and how they are used for environmental restoration activities. Topics include the nature of biofilms, interactions of microbes with inorganic and organic constituents, processes to implement bioremediation in surface/subsurface environments, and treatment of solid, liquid, and gaseous waste streams. Preq: MICR 3050 and MICR 4040 ; and either CH 2010 or both CH 2230 and CH 2270 .
This 4000-level course has a 6000-level counterpart. Students should refer to the Graduate Catalog for the 6000-level description and requirements.
