MSE 4280 - Phase Diagrams for Materials Processing and Applications 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours) Teaches students to use single component, binary, and ternary phase diagrams to analyze material processing routes and utilization. Considers reaction pathways by which material microstructure evolves and the relationship of reaction pathway to equilibrium phase diagrams. Also considers material interactions/degradation during use. Preq: ME 3030 or MSE 3260 .
This 4000-level course has a 6000-level counterpart. Students should refer to the Graduate Catalog for the 6000-level description and requirements.
