Program Description
The Baccalaureate Certificate in Advanced Manufacturing provides students with the skills needed to enter industry incorporating advanced manufacturing techniques. The nation’s manufacturing sector requires employees to have multidisciplinary skills that cut across the disciplines. A gateway course provides a broad exposure to a multitude of advanced manufacturing techniques in a variety of product sectors. After completing the gateway course, students select courses in an area of specialization. A culminating project-based design practicum course provides students with a hands-on experience directly related to advanced manufacturing.
The certificate program requires three three-credit courses plus a three-credit project-based practicum experience in advanced manufacturing arranged as follows:
Gateway Course - Three Credits
Specialization Courses - Six Credits
In consultation with a program advisor, students select two courses (six credits) that satisfy both their degree and the certificate requirements.
