Program Description
The Certificate in Policy Studies provides students with background in public policy, thus enabling them to examine and comment on policy problems associated with their primary area of expertise. The certificate program combines public policy theory and analytical skills with exposure to a substantive public policy domain. Students who complete this certificate have the skills necessary to supply decision-makers with expert policy advice.
Summary of Certificate Requirements
The Certificate in Policy Studies requires 12 hours of course requirements, distributed as shown in the core coursework list below. No more than three hours of credit may be taken at the 6000 level. Students must earn a grade B or higher in all coursework applied toward the certificate.
Before the Certificate in Policy Studies may be awarded, a student must update the GS2 form and inform the Program Director.
