Systems Engineering Certificate

Program Description
Systems engineers manage large and/or complex projects comprised of multiple technical disciplines. They see the big picture and coordinate all aspects of a project throughout its life cycle from inception to development to commissioning and completion. The Systems Engineering Certificate provides practicing engineers and scientists with an educational program covering the fundamentals of systems engineering. On completing the graduate-level courses in the certificate, participants have a basic understanding of systems engineering and a skillset to manage design projects from inception through project completion to meet stakeholder needs. Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree either in an engineering discipline or computer science.
Summary of Certificate Requirements
The Systems Engineering graduate level certificate program is a basic set of courses that serve as the fundamental building blocks of systems engineering. Prerequisite coursework in advanced engineering mathematics is expected. Students completing the certificate have the core course base needed to continue towards the Master of Engineering degree. Students must complete 12 credit hours of approved coursework, each with a grade of C or better, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
