Program Description
The Anthropology BS major prepares students for a variety of professional careers related to museum and park service interpretation, forensic science, health services, and other scientifically-oriented positions in the public and private sector. In addition, the Bachelor’s degree provides excellent preparation for graduate training in anthropology, medicine, and human factors engineering. The degree requires a total of 124-125 semester hours, including 39 credit hours in anthropology as identified below. In addition, students take 15 hours of math and/or science courses (from a department-approved list). These additional courses provide students with a greater depth and broader diversity of interdisciplinary knowledge useful for the direct application of an anthropological perspective to potential career paths. Courses used to fulfill General Education Requirements and Departmental Science and Math courses may be used to fulfill minor requirements.
Students wishing to change majors into the Anthropology BS program must have a 2.0 or higher Clemson/Bridge cumulative grade-point average.
