GEN 4500 - Comparative Genetics 3 Credits (3 Contact Hours) Outlines the genome structure, function, and evolution based on available complete genome sequences. Topics include the evolution of multigene families, origin of eukaryotic organelles, molecular phylogeny, gene duplication, domain shuffling, transposition, and horizontal gene transfer. Includes Honors sections. Preq: GEN 4200 with a C or better.
