MICR 4310 - Microbial Diversity and Ecology Laboratory 1 Credits (3 Contact Hours) Provides a laboratory experience to complement topics covered in the Microbial Diversity and Ecology lecture. These topics are important at practical levels to better understand the diversity of microbes in various ecosystems. The laboratory is used to learn sampling techniques, preparation of microbial media, basic identification techniques, and modern molecular protocols for microbe identification, such as PCR and 16S rDNA gene sequencing.
