Offers an introduction to medical anthropology, emphasizing the interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspective in studying health, illness and medicine; provides a survey of major theoretical frames, concepts and methods in the field; and attends to application of anthropology in medicine, nursing and public health in the emerging global context.
