Program Requirements
All new engineering students (including transfer students who have not completed all courses in the freshman engineering curriculum) are admitted into General Engineering. The General Engineering Program provides students an opportunity to explore various engineering fields while getting a sound academic preparation for engineering study.
First Semester Freshman Year Curriculum
Second Semester Freshman Year - Bioengineering Majors
Second Semester Freshman Year - Biosystems Engineering Majors
Second Semester Freshman Year - Chemical Engineering Majors
Second Semester Freshman Year - Civil Engineering Major
Second Semester Freshman Year - Computer Engineering Major
Notes:
1 ENGR 1070 , ENGR 1080 , and ENGR 1090 may be substituted for ENGR 1410 .
2 This course must be passed with a grade of C or higher either to transfer into Computer Engineering from General Engineering or to satisfy later course prerequisites.
3 See General Education Requirements. Six General Education Requirements must also satisfy the General Education Cross-Cultural Awareness Requirement and the Science and Technology in Society Requirement.
Second Semester Freshman Year - Electrical Engineering Major
Notes:
1 ENGR 1070 , ENGR 1080 , and ENGR 1090 may be substituted for ENGR 1410 .
2 This course must be passed with a grade of C or higher either to transfer into Electrical Engineering from General Engineering or to satisfy later course prerequisites.
3 See General Education Requirements. Six General Education Requirements must also satisfy the General Education Cross-Cultural Awareness Requirement and the Science and Technology in Society Requirement.
Second Semester Freshman Year - Environmental Engineering Major
Notes:
1 ENGR 1070 , ENGR 1080 , and ENGR 1090 may be substituted for ENGR 1410 .
2 HIST 1240 satisfies three credits of the Social Science General Education Requirement and the Science and Technology in Society General Education Requirement. If a student is unable to enroll in the second semester of the freshman year, this course may be taken at another time.
